West Loch Awe land management plan
West Loch Awe land management plan
West Loch Awe Land Management Plan now comprises of four forest blocks - Collaig, Inverinan, Loch Avich and Inverliever - lying to the west of Loch Awe. (The block at Achachenna is no longer in FLS ownership.) The local villages of Kilchrenan, Inverinan, Dalavich and Inverliever surround the forest areas.
Inverinan and Inverliever have some recreational interests with Loch Avich important to local fishing groups. The area is important in terms of wildlife and biodiversity. The forest areas also provide catchments for both public and private water supply.
The edges of all five blocks are highly visible, with the western side of Loch Avich and the far eastern side of Collaig both classified as areas of outstanding panoramic quality.
The plan for West Loch Awe was approved by Perth and Argyll Conservancy on 8th April 2021. The plan expires on 7th April 2031.
