Bealach land management plan
Bealach land management plan
The Bealach Land Management Plan (LMP) area covers 1874 ha of primarily conifer forest and open hill between Duror and Appin in southern Lochaber. Around 66 ha is native woodland of oak, hazel and birch with scope for expansion along the water courses and on the upper margins of the forest. The forest plan will look at how to harvest the current conifer crop including the alignment of new forest roads as well as introducing more diversity into the woodland in the future and protecting the key habitats. Bealach is part of a larger area of forest and hill land managed by Forestry and Land Scotland.
