Trails in Galloway Forest Park
Trails in Galloway Forest Park navigation
You'll find a selection of trails to make your trip to Galloway enjoyable at any time of year.
For gentle strolls and lochside ambles, head to our two friendly forest cafés - Kirroughtree and Glentrool.
Visit the old oakwood at Knockman Wood, home to the ancient, chambered cairn of Boreland.
Keep an eye out for artworks amongst the trees too, including a lofty red sandstone spire near Talnotry and an earthwork labyrinth beside the Raiders’ Road forest drive.
For the more adventurous and well-prepared there are also some unforgettable hill routes. From Cornish Hill in the north to mighty Merrick above Glentrool, the highest peak in southern Scotland.
