The forests of Dull (including Camserney), Weem and Glassie (including Killiechassie) sit on the slopes on the north side of the River Tay, to the north and west of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. Together, they cover an area of approximately 1523 hectares. 

Dull and Weem contain mostly older, mixed species on the steep, rocky south facing slopes and are prominent in the landscape. The older sections of Weem are remnants of the Castle Menzies policy woodland, a mix of native broadleaves and specimen conifers, acquired during the travels of Archibald Menzies, plant collector, who worked in the gardens of Castle Menzies. Glassie and Camserney are located on the flatter, higher ground above. These blocks were planted with conifers during the 1980s and 1990s. 

Proposed timeline 

• October 2023: the present plan expired
• Autumn 2024: initial scoping and consultation starts
• Spring/Summer 2025: draft proposal for public consultation
• Autumn 2025: preparation of final plan document for submission to Scottish Forestry
