Strone Hill

Quiet riverside trails in oak and birch woodland

Stop off at this natural resting place. For centuries cattle drovers and other travellers along Glen Orchy have paused here for a moment. The riverside trail passes through woodland that provides brilliant colour in spring and autumn. There is also welcome shade for summer picnics.

The route has viewpoints over the waterfalls, which are particularly dramatic when the river is in spate.

River Lochy Falls Trail

This winding trail follows the River Lochy down through some beautiful native oak woodland.

Firm but uneven gravel path throughout. Includes steep slopes and one wide bridge.

• £3 for all day

Blue Badge holders park free. Please display your Blue Badge clearly.

Stay the Night

Our Stay the Night scheme now runs right through the year. This means self-contained motorhomes and campervans will be able to park overnight for one night in some of our car parks.

There is a £13 charge to Stay the Night here, this includes use of the chemical waste disposal facility. If you are not Staying the Night and only want to do a drop-off of chemical waste then it’s £5. Payment can be made through RingGo with details of how to do this at the car park.

Getting here

The turn-off for Strone Hill is on the south side of the A85, 3 miles east of Dalmally. If driving from Tyndrum, it's the first left after our forest at Glen Lochy.
