Head for this quiet area of forest near Newton Stewart for great views. Unmarked forest trails link up to the white Larg Hill Trail. Visitors can stop and enjoy all the amenities of Kirroughtree before heading back.
The wide forest roads here make this an ideal place for horse-riding. There's room in the car park for a couple of horse boxes.
The nearest public toilets by car are in Newton Stewart.
