We know a trip to buy an all natural Christmas tree from one of our forests can be every bit as much a tradition as hanging up stockings and eating mince pies, so we’re delighted to be able to announce our festive plans for 2024!

Pick up a Christmas tree at the following forests. See below for prices, opening hours and other activities.

The Lodge - opens 30 November

Join us for magical Christmas fun at The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre, just outside of Aberfoyle.

Opening hours

Open daily from Friday 29 November to Friday 20 December.

Hours: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Availability and pricing

For 2024 we will have a range of Nordmann and Fraser firs, grown in the UK and certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Festive events and facilities 

Winter themed self led children's trail (free of charge). Open daily on the accessible white Waterfall Trail. 

Café open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (takeaway only from 3:00 pm)

Glenbranter - opens 29 November

Celebrating Christmas in Cowal? 

Glenbranter is just up the road from Dunoon and we’re selling UK grown trees certified by the FSC.

Opening hours

  • Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Friday 6 to Sunday 8 December, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Friday 13 to Sunday 15 December, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Festive trail and facilities

Why not bring the family and wonder along our 12 days of Christmas themed trail, it’s totally free! This gentle stroll takes in many different native tree species like oak and hazel and is a great place to spot red squirrels.

Unfortunately we won’t have any food or refreshments available this year, but toilet facilities will be open to all visitors.

Tyrebagger - opens 23 November

The Tyrebagger sales centre is being run by Scottish Christmas Trees and they will open on Saturday 23 November.

Kinnoull Hill - opens 30 November

The Christmas tree sales centre at Kinnoull Hill is being run by a private contractor. The centre will be open on Saturday 30 November for three weeks on the following days:

  • Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm 
  • Thursday 5 December till Sunday 8 December, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm 
  • Thursday 12 December till Sunday 15 December, 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
