Glasgow may be the most densely populated city in Scotland but there are plenty of places to explore…
Auchenshuggle Wood might be sandwiched between a motorway and a dual carriageway, but thick foliage ensures a surprisingly peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s ideal for a gentle stroll with the family, a walk with your dog or a picnic in the dappled shade beneath the trees. There’s wildlife here too – keep an eye out for deer or a shy fox and listen for woodland birds amongst the ash and birch trees.
The main path through the wood is about a mile long, and is wide, firm and fairly level – ideal for buggies.
There are public toilets and places to eat and drink across the road at the eastern end of the woods. Head into nearby Tollcross for more shops, cafés and restaurants.
There is no charge to park in this car park. Please park with care and consideration. In particular please park in designated parking areas only and do not block entrances or gates.
There is no car park at this location.
Auchenshuggle Wood is on London Road in the east end of Glasgow, just off Junction 2A of the M74. There are three entrances along the London Road side of the wood.
There is no car park for the wood itself, but there is plenty of on street parking and retail car parks nearby.
Please park with consideration and do not block pedestrian and vehicle access points. Do consider public and active transport if available and possible.
