Important

There’s a very high risk of wildfire across Western, Eastern and Central Scotland from Thursday 23 April to Sunday 26 April 2026. Please pay attention to local guidance and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.

As an executive agency of the Scottish Government and under Part 9 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, we’re a corporate parent.

What does this mean?

As a corporate parent, we’ve obligations and responsibilities towards children and young people with care experience. However, we also want to make sure that wherever possible we extend our responsibilities to everyone who has a care experienced background. Our Corporate Parenting Plan sets out how we intend to meet our responsibilities.
