As of 12 March 2026, we'll be carrying out repairs to the footbridge at the Glen Donich Falls. To allow us to do so safely, the bridge and the Glen Donich Trail will be closed.
We aim to finish and have the trail reopened by 15 March 2026.

Explore pretty woodland at the head of Loch Goil. Head along the old Duke's Path to Donich Waterfalls that, framed by towering conifers.
The Glen Donich Trail will be closed from 12 to 15 March to allow us to safely carry out repairs to the footbridge and the Donich Falls.
Follow an ancient Argyll road to discover the glorious Donich Waterfalls at the head of a secluded glen.
Uneven gravel paths, with rough and narrow rocky sections. Occasional patch may be muddy. Long steep slopes for 600m. Includes some rough steps and a gate.

This fantastic trail leads you along the edge of the Ardgoil forest to the top of Donich Glen, where you’ll find the Donich Waterfalls. They’re a magnificent sight after heavy rain.
The Loch Lomond & Cowal Way is a long distance walking route that passes through Lochgoilhead. The trail is known as "Scotland in 57 miles" due to its diverse terrain covering lochs, glens, forests and open hillsides.
There are public toilets and other facilities in Lochgoilhead village.
There is no charge to park in this car park.
Lochgoilhead Arboretum car park can be accessed from the village, just opposite Lochgoilhead Primary School on Hall Road. If the Arboretum car park is full, a council-run car park is available in Lochgoilhead village.
