Pitfichie and Corrennie Land Management Plan amendment
Pitfichie and Corrennie Land Management Plan amendment navigation
Pitfichie and Corrennie covers close to 2,500 ha made up of two forest areas separated by the A944 main road: Pitfichie in the North is composed of a series of summits ranging from Pitfichie Hill. Corrennie in the South is mainly located on the slopes of Green Hill and Red Hill. The forest is primarily composed of conifer with some areas of broadleaves present. The open lands are of upland heathland located around the summit of the hills.
Mid-term review amendment
In this amendment there are no changes to the planned felling of trees. The amendment consists principally of changes to tree species to be planted.
The changes in conifer species are due to the present soil conditions, competing plants, and levels of natural tree regeneration. Broad-leaf species are to be planted in riparian zones and areas of amenity woodland.
The full amendment and maps can be seen in the below documents.
